Has anyone else got or had polish white creasted chickens, and could you please tell me when they start laying and if they are any good at it! I also have one gold silkie hen and wondered when she will start laying too, they are all 18 weeks old, your input will be greatly appretiated

Hi ya!

 

I'm not sure if this is going to be of any help to you but as well as the rest of my hens, I have 3 polish cross hens...

 

I'm afriad I don't know when they started laying as I recieved them at POL.

 

One of them is an excellent broody though and hatches all my eggs for me.

 

Mine lay medium sized eggs (larger than bantams but smaller than heavy breeds) and they seem to lay about once every 2 days or so.

I have a little Poland hen called Floss, & she lays really good sized eggs, which have a HUGE yolk in them

She is a good,consistant layer & a little sweetheart too.

I think she was about 20 weeks when she started producing

I think because of the time of year they may not lay until Spring or January at the earliest. My Pekins are theoretically at POL but I'm not expecting eggs 'til Spring.
