Wish I Knew
Hi, Can anyone recommend a good vet for chickens in the Edinburgh/Midlothian/East Lothian area? If so, can you also give an idea of consulation costs if known? Many thanks
eggysoldiers
The only really chicken savvy place I know is the dick vet..... Edinburgh small animal hospital.... The fees are in line with elsewhere but they will actually treat the chooks instead of looking confused at it, then at you!

Wish I Knew
😂😂 Thanks. Yes, it is just known as Dick Vets round here 😂. I thought about them but wasn't sure how much of a normal vet practice they were compared to a specialist hospital. Wondered if there were any other options. I saw that the British Hen Welfare Trust mentions a vet at Gordon's practice in Musselburgh but that vet's name is nowhere to be found on Gordon's practice website so it must be out of date..... Braid Vets seem to mention an exotic animal section in their practice so I don't know if anyone has used them?? Maybe there are no other good options and the place to go is Dick Vet, as you say... Many thanks for the reply, Eggysoldiers. If anyone else has any further ideas, please shout.... Thank you!
eggysoldiers
It has a normal vet practice that is very good. I take my dog there. And I know they are good with chickens too.
