AJuff
Help!! I read a while back about slugs with small white mites running about on them that someone's hens wouldn't go near. Delia my Brown Nick has a passion for slugs and will eat every one she finds despite the size or colour of them. Today though she ate two huge slugs before I could stop her, they were crawling with horrible tiny white mites. Will she be OK? Do I need to take any action? Snowy
The white mites on the slug are a parasite specific to slugs, they won't harm your chicken. Bit of extra protein that's all!
AJuff
Thanks for that, I'll sleep soundly tonight.
xChicken04x
Hiya, I read that too, I think they are only dangerous if humans eat them (not like you would want to ) Your girls will be fine! xx
