Hiya, I have a speckledy hybrid called Uma

Here is a piccie of her

chickenpiccies160.jpg

She is lovley, very funny and a great layer of dark brown eggs but she will not tollerate cuddles!!!! She kicks and fusses and flaps untill you put her down. She will let you stroke her though.

I'm not sure if it is just Uma because of the way she was brought up (no handling from a young age) But they are supposed to be good with handling.

I wouldnt swap her though, she's lovley! :D

Good luck!

xx

Hi there, i have a speckly hen and she is very timid, i introduced her and 2 blue haze hens with my other 5 hybrids, the 5 picked on the new three for about 2 weeks, now they get on fine. Ive always been advised not to mix bantams with big hens though :(

Here's a pic with our Speckledy hen in the foreground. She's a lovely fluffy great big bundle of crabby, cranky, anti-social, broody feathers. I've not managed to pick her up yet and she's a right old grump! But she is BEAUTIFUL - the picture doesn't do her justice and she's a lovely character. Go on, get one!!
