Here is one to get your brain ticking over.

 

As you are walking along a long road you come to a fork, one road is the correct way to go, the other is wrong. At this fork there is a bungalow where a set of twins live, the twins are identical apart from one thing, one always tells the truth and the other always tells lies.

 

What is the one question you can ask the twins that will tell you which is the correct way to go?

Ooooh Laura I have thought and thought and thought and it just hurts! Can't get this one no matter how hard I try. Although I see no-one else can either

 

When are you thinking of putting us out of our misery?

Oh! Squeak! I might have a bit of an inspiration... is it something to do with bungalows? ie ask where the stairs are or something? Please help I am an old lady you know.

I remember something along these lines from the dim distant past.

 

I think ........... do you ask ......

 

"If I ask your twin which is the correct way to go what will they say ?".

 

The correct way is then the other way........ I think!

 

I'm sure you can explain it better but my brain is full of present wrapping, turkey buying, champagne drinking, entertaining, lemon meringue pie making Christmas things. Unfortunately I managed to burn the top of the meringue, and had to scoop off the burnt top and put on another layer. Do you think anyone will notice?
