CatsCube
Hi, All Im looking at getting an eglu and keeping chickens for the first time. I have quite a small back garden so Im looking specifically at chickens that dont require large amounts of space an that dont forage to much and wreck the garden. My thoughts are to get Bantams in particular Jap, Pekin and Fizzles. My question is I know it says you can have up to 5 in an eglu if your letting them free range, but 2/3 if your keeping them in the run. Now these breeds I have read are happy to be kept in a run, but I do intend to let them out in the garden to potter around for the mornings then put them back in the pen early afternoons. If this is the case how many Bantams of these verities could I keep happily. Baring in mind that my garden is only about 6m square.
UkButton
I have 4 large breeds in an eglu. they spend the day in the run while i'm at work and free range when i'm home. Good luck with yours.
Egluntyne
I have 4 hybrids in two of my Eglus. Each Eglu has a converter and an extension. They have plenty of room, so I'm not too worried if they don't get to play out on the odd day.
