Jen22
Wondering how to predator proof an eglu cube? I see that the eglu go has an add-on to add a padlock to the back door. Would this work on the cube? How are others keeping raccoons out? Thank you!
Cat tails
Think there have been people on here that had to deal with raccoons. Most people on here live in a rather raccoon-free country! Think they used an extra bungie around the back to keep the doors in place. If you want to be totally sure, your best bet is to place the coop in a secure run if you want to be absolutely sure! tomontwowheels
We've had two incidents with New England predators. The first a hawk was able to get two of our chicks by the neck through the edge whilst they were feeding and kill them. Our solution to this is to get a fake owl and put it near by - hopefully to ward off other birds of prey. The second we got home to find the back door had somehow come off - we think from a persistant bear which then got two of our chicks. A solution for this is to bungee the back door - we have a tarp hanging over the back to give under the coop some shade and to add an extra layer of water proofing. This being said, we know of two people who have had their coops destroyed a total of three times from bear attacks so the omlet is performing relatively well.
Cat tails
That sounds like serious predators! Hope you can keep them away now.

Hi tomontwowheels, Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I’m wondering if you could share how you bungee’d the back door of your Cube? Has it been successful so far? I have similar questions/concerns as Jen22 and am looking for guidance from older posts 😁
