Flooring in walk-in runs

Has anybody got any Purslane or Comfrey plants they wish to sell or swop please.

 

I know that once you have them they grow like weeds so if you are digging any up or splitting any, I would be most grateful for first refusal.

 

I am sure that I can come up with something you might likr in return - whether money or plants or seeds or fruit bushes. I have a very very unusual fruit bush that should fruit this year that I have grown for three years from a cutting - called a Jostaberry. Quite rare.

What a good idea! I don't have comfrey or purslane but the prospect of trading cuttings or seedlings is really great!

I have some comfrey Kooringa - but it is a cream flowering variety, not the common one.. I use it in the same way as the more common one and make a liquid feed and line the runner bean trench with it but I don't know for sure whether it is as efficacious (sp?) as the other.

That sounds great - have had internet (and car) problems. Still without car!

 

I have a list of seeds, veggies and flowers to so can share them as I won't need all the seeds in each packet.

 

Plus I can did up some raspberries, autumn or summer fruiting, and I have few posh strawbs, but best to wait until spring to see if they sprout o.k.

 

Have some black currant cuttings too, 18 months old and rooted.

 

Let me know what you would like as a swop and if you want to see my list of vergor flowers.

 

I have about 70 packets of veg seeds and a lot of flower seeds, Sarah Raven's, Unwins, need to let you have a list.

This thread is a great idea Kooringa. Are you planning to use the comfrey medicinally? I know there's a warning about it, but I can't remember the details, just thought you should check.

Can anyone tell me what a plant in our garden is? It looks very similar, is very difficult to remove, and spreads. Blue flowers, out with the bluebells, so looks splendid for a while, but the leaves cause a nasty stinging rash, even just brushing against them. Makes fantastic compost, but how ever much I dig up, it's always there again next April!

Any comfrey would be wonderful. And yes, it would be good to swop cuttings as well as seeds. And hints and tips too.

The comfrey is for composting and the purslane is for the chickens. Just got my internet back but the printer has gone on strike. Hecky thump. Don't mention the car! Did manage the 200+ mile journey in my little old thing, but to be helped out and still suffering - rotten getting old

 

Have your plants got spots on their leaves by any chance?

Yes, it'll be March before there's enough top get hold of, so we'll remind you, Lesley.

Um, so, what do you all reckon to my one that seems to look a bit like borage, comfrey etc, bright blue pretty flowers in April , takes over, great compost, but leaves will give a horrid stinging, prickly rash. Apologies for dimness, but I've been trying to find out definitely for 20 years!

Oh, poor Kooringa, re journey. Hope you had a lovely soak in a hot lavendar bath, or similar!
