Do chickens eat more pellets when it's cold?

Recommended Posts

Mine are eating very much more than usual. I reckon it is about half a litre of pellets per hen per day (I use a measuring jug to pour them into the feeders, and I seem to put out about three litres (as it were) for six hens.

I bring the food in at night. (I say this because last time I thought they had enormous appetites, it was the rats polishing the pellets off at night.)
