redfrock
My bunnies have superb home made hutches - like nothing you can buy - kindly created by OH's very own fair hands. Superbly sturdy and cost a fraction of the rablu (although if I didn't have such a handy husband, and a bit more cash ...) Anyway OH was on feeding duty last night because I am still laid up with this chest infection. I asked him to put plenty of extra hay and straw in the bedrooms as it was so cold - especially as Bibs lives on her own as she has refused to bond. Anyway when I got up this morning I saw that the lid to her hutch was still up (its on gas struts!). After putting the extra bedding in he had forgotten to put the lid down I am so angry. Thankfully it didn't rain last night and she also has a cardboard box in there to play in etc, so it provided a measly bit of shelter. She is very much an outdoor rabbit - she has a very thick winter coat and is more often than not in her run (they are never shut in) but I am really worried that without the option of shelter last night she may have caught a chill - am I being paranoid or should I be worried? I am absolutely seething (which may seem extreme, but there are reasons for such a strong reaction trust me).
chelsea
Im no rabbit expert, but Im sure just for the mistake of one night only being kept like this she will be fine. If you think about rabbits out in the wild....they are always out and about at night (worryingly for me driving the car on country roads ). Give her a cuddle and some treats and she'll forgive you! maybe keep an eye on her though.
redfrock
I've threatened to bring her indoors and make him sleep outside in the hutch with the lid up

Even the simple little things they get wrong..... I would do this at him --- accompanied with shaking of head from side to side and some tutting!!
