ktdot
After having to spend a week confined to barracks because the lawn feed my husband put down had moss killer in it, the girls have been let out at last! They forgot all thoughts of treats (they usually mob me when I open the door) and ran straight to the bit of garden they have claimed as their dustbath. They are now filthy but very happy This was a white chicken!
Jules.
I took a photo of my girls today dustbathing in the sunshine.
ktdot
They love it don't they? The white Coral has softer feathers than the other two and the dirt sits in there for ages. She has a little shake and half the garden falls out!

Don't make the mistake i have & let them into the kitchen after they have been dustbathing... especially after you have mopped the floor

I've just realised her head isn't buried, I thought that was the other hens head!!
The Bantam of the Opera
aww, i lvoe watching hens dustbath. its so clumsy when they do it, mine have dug such a deep hole to bath in at the end of my garden taht when theyre in there you can only see mud flying about in all directions then their head will pop up just to check theyre not missing out on anything.
