The Bantam of the Opera
Does the amount of double yolkers a hen lay indicate she is getting old or is in ill health? Herro i got fully grown so ive no idea how old she is exactly but she lays at least 1 double yolker a week and some times more. Mrs.weasly did this shortly before she passed away and i was wondering if this had anyhting to do with it? thanks

She has doen this since she came into lay in the summer. IT doesn't seem to be doing her any harm - she is is one of the biggest, happiest hens I know
BeckyBoo
I don't think it indicates anything, one of ours laid loads of double yolkers when she first came in to lay, then none for ages then we had another one from her at the weekend, she seems fine. (they must make her eyes water though, they're HUGE! ) Mrs Bertie

Roxanne
One of my Gingernuts lays a double yolker once a week. My husband ALWAYS eats them for breakfast!!
Egluntyne
A bit off topic, BOTO , but is there an update on your stray chicken? Or have you posted one elsewhere and I've missed it.
