Guest
I believe they can make money out of it. When you get a new credit card there is an 0800 number to call to get it activated - worth keeping for when you want to contact them later on. Personally though I'm not any keener on 0800 numbers. In my new school (which I still hate) the only phone I can use is in the kitchen in the staffroom - I don't want everyone knowing my business! BUT I have free calls on my mobile - of course 0800 numbers are NOT included in my free calls. So for me it's a geo number every time. The Dogmother
I have that issue too Pengy - I don't like to make private calls at work (although I have my own office, they are easily overheard) for the same reasons and have the same issue with my mobile. I wait until I get home at lunchtime and have free calls from there, although it sometimes takes all my lunchbreak to sort something out
