Cate in NZ
Does anyone know who the lovley male voice on the answerphone message belongs to?Its a really nice message - friendly, upbeat & easy to listen to. Any ideas, anyone? Haven't got a clue Sarah, I'm afraid, but I've never rung Omlet when they're closed. Strangely though I have this overwhelming urge to ring them right now . What's the chances that they'll be back to work on Monday to an answerphone full of those annoying hung up calls
Egluntyne
I've never got the answerphone. I've always spoken to a female personage. I'll have to ring out of office hours to hear the voice.

feemcg
I thought it was James - I've heard the message and spoken to James a few times so I think it's him. Clare or Kate will know
Mrs Frugal
I think it's James - or the phone number I ring is anyway . He's got a very nice speaking voice.

The Dogmother
They're going to get lots of non-messages on their answer phone! He does have the old silver tongue, doesn't he? A friend does voice overs; he's an actor and has the most wonderful diction and silky voice - fair makes me tremble.. I keep forgetting to ask him to do my voicemail message for me
Egluntyne
A friend of ours does voice overs...he has the sort of voice that makes your knees tremble. We occasionally recognise it on adverts.

Mrs Frugal
Nor will I. Long gone are the days when I was top poster . Even Lesley's ahead of me now .
Guest
Mum spoke to James once (yes she should have told him she was the anti-chicken) and said he had a lovely voice. He seemed surprised to have answered the phone to a random customer - thats because when Omlet previously rang back she had jotted down the geographic number - firmly trained by me never to use an 0870 or 0845 number and Omlet were not on the saynoto0870 site. Can you either tell us all the number, or put it on the say no to 0870 site?
bronze
I've spoken to James in the past. I don't remember his voice being anything special but I think it was home countiesish so I'm not likely to notice it as anything different as thats what I'm used to. The Dogmother
They're not too keen on people calling the terrestrial number ad lib - the 0845 number goes through to the admin team upstairs where they deal with all the sales and enquiries, whereas the terrestrial number goes straight through to the boys office downstairs - at least that's what I was told. So (infuriating though it is) they'd prefer us to use the 0845 number. I know, using non-terrestrial numbers gets on my wick too!
Guest
I figured that which was why I never posted it on saynoto0870, they are a very small company. However they should ditch the 0845 number and just use a geo one.

Guest
The woman at my bank just kept saying to me "but its only the cost of a local call" I was saying to her NO, a local call, a national call even an international call COSTS ME NOTHING. This is a call which costs me money. To which she said "it's only the cost of a local call!. Why do business assume we are happy to pay to call them? I have called companies on the "wrong number" i.e. the freephone number for getting new business and been told I have to call back on the premium rate 0870 number - I then tell them my phone has been barred from calling 0870 numbers - that usually works! The Dogmother
I had the same thing recently when sorting out insurance issues regarding the van when it was hit - my insurers use an 0800 number but a couple of other companies that i had to contact used 0870 type numbers - a quick spot of google-detectiving soon turned up their terrestrial numbers. Correct me if I'm worng Pengers, but did I read somewhere once that companies can make money out of people calling them on their 0870 type numbers? Now that would really irk me!
