Egluntyne
Four of my naughty girls staged a break out this aft. I hovered for 30 minutes or so and supervised as they made a very good job of clearing the border on the right. Artemis Fowl (the Pepperpot) is so difficult to catch...I had to resort to the landing net as usual.
ubereglu
At least they stayed in your garden though Egluntine. Molly last week managed to jump over the fence and escape into next doors garden. luckily Nick found it funny. She hasn't done it again though as she got so stressed out because she could see the others, but couldn't get back. We had to go round there and bribe her with mashed potato to catch her!!! hillfamily
We found our smallest bantam on top of one of our sheds last week - fortunately she chose to wait at our garden end of the shed to be rescued..........had visions of her jumping off the other end into a neighbours garden
harveypup
Mine are "trained" to come running at the sight of a yellow treats dish and the sound of dried mealworms rattling in the tub. Only took about a week. They did a good job gardening for you by the looks of it bless em
Snowy
Mine were all let out today for the Hen Partyers. I was very proud of them - they gave a wonderful demonstration of how to get chickens back in their run when I took their treat bowl out! The Partyers were very impressed! That looks like a great flower border for them to dig over for you Egluntine, bet they loved it!
Ain't Nobody Here
What a lovely big garden . Lucky chickens . (Please get someone to film you using the landing net to catch Artemis Fowl - sounds like YouTube material .)
Guest
how did they manage to get out?
Egluntyne
Sneaked through a slight gap in the bottom of the poultry netting I think. No obvious new gaps as far as I can see. Or they could have flapped over the top of one bit which was a bit saggy and low.
chelsea
Awww, bless 'em. They look like they are having fun. They said they might do it again tomorrow....when you're not watching!!
MedusA
Mine were always escaping from the chicken wire pen I used to protect the flowerbeds - hence the need for a more permanent structure. My girls only have to see me walk down the path to assume I have treats (which is often the case), so they are really easy to get back in. I would love to see pics/video of Artemis Fowl in the net-catching process too!
Hen Watch
What a great garden Egluntine. My lot broke out of their "area" last week. I moved the eglu along to a new patch of grass and put it right next to the net fence. Hop, skip and a jump onto the eglu run top and then escape comittee over the fence. They are obviously not a stupid as me.....!!!! Eglu now safe distance from fence....
