Sunshine
Having read previous posts weldmesh seems like the best option but seems much more expensive than chicken wire. On meshdirect there was a £45 difference for the same amount. Has anyone experienced foxes chewing through normal chicken wire as i am very tempted to go for that but having a few doubts that it wouldnt protect the chickens when they are in the run which would be most of the time. Egluntyne
Foxes can bite through chicken wire all too easily I'm afraid. I know the price difference can make you gulp a bit, but it really is worth it.
MedusA
I agree 100% with Egluntine! Go for weldmesh 16 gauge (not 19 gauge). My local fox has even tried to nibble the 16 gauge (bite marks very evident), but couldn't get through it. It would have bitten through thinner mesh very easily. Believe me, the extra expense is worth it for the peace of mind!
