little chickadee
Is anyone from around this area who could recommend a good Chicken breeder?
Lindy
Hi Little Chickadee, We got two lovely chickens (a Speckled Star and a Sussex Star) in October 2006 from the wonderful Paula of Paula's Poultry near Jedburgh in the Borders. Absolutely worth the journey from Glasgow! Plus she's given us very good chicken advice by email when we needed it.
AJuff
I bought two of my girls from there and Paula is so nice and friendly. She had some skylines in that lay blue green eggs a few weeks ago.
AJuff
Kintaline Farm Plant and Poultry Centre Benderloch, OBAN, Argyll, PA37 1QS Scotland Tel: 01631 720223 email: home@poultryscotland.co.uk This place may be nearer though. My local hen breeder down the road has Bovan Goldlines at POL. I'm heading north to Aberdeen on Monday if you'd like any brought up as far as Edinburgh. Ain't Nobody Here
Eddie Lovett in Bridge of Weir, just outside Glasgow and on the road to Helensburgh. Registered Black Rock supplier, Marans, RIR and he had hybrids last time I spoke to him. That's where I was supposed to get my hens back in September. A lovely chap (we spoke for about half an hour on the phone once ) and a very friendly helpful daughter (called Vicki!). Unfortunately, he'd been ill with flu or something so kept delaying his trip through to Edinburgh. I was so desparate to get some hens (you'll not know how that feels ) that I ended up going to a farm near Edinburgh.
