Tina C
Sarah I went in search of this thread as I have just bought a blueberry from Woolies (for £2.99 - just in case you want to try again) I don't have any ericaceous compost so am going to plant it in a mix of all-purpose and my own chicken poo/aubiose based compost for now and re-pot it when I have a chance to get to the garden centre. Out of interest has anyone tested the PH of their chicken poo compost? Will it be more acidic than compost without chicken poo in it or is it no different after composting has broken everything down? I have a feeling that may be a silly question but I can't get my head round it.
FruitandNutCake
rabbits also love blueberry tree - and birds love the berries. I had a good crop last year - went out next day to pick them and they were all gone! This year I'm building a walk in fruit run for the strawberries and blueberries- separate to the chicken and rabbit run! And it is going to have netting over the top.
