Janty
I couldn't decide last week whether the new egg in the nesting box belonged to my splash cochin or the buff columbian brahma. I have since watched carefully and discovered that it was indeed the cochin who had started to lay. Today I came home from work to find a huge egg in comparison...it was laid by the brahma, Buffy. I bent down to give her a stroke and she crouched so fast. Good girl.

ubereglu
That's great news and well done that hen!!! How old is she? I'm still waiting for Molly and Spice to lay even though they're 31 and 33 weeks old now...
Janty
I don't know exactly how old Buffy is because she was a POL brahma that I got to replace my two cockerels. The breeder said that when I got her she was about 6 months old and I have had her since the end of December. That would be about right for a brahma.
