FORENSICA
Hi, I was going through our storage space and realized that I have still some bags of cat litter left (our cats were using human loo and now only garden). Do you think that I could use it for the dropping tray?
Eyren
I don't think it would help much - the space under the bars isn't that high, and anyway most of the chicken poo is quite dry (and really not very smelly compared to cat poo). Plus, depending on the type of litter, it might be more hassle to remove than poo alone! Why not donate the litter to your nearest Blue Cross or other cat rescue centre? We did that with some dried food that our cats turned up their noses at
nicki9
I guess you could, no different to using aubiose or something, can you compost cat litter?
Eyren
can you compost cat litter? Depends what sort - the wood/corn pellet stuff would be OK, but not the clay or crystal type.
FORENSICA
Yes, that is what I thought that it might not be very useful What a great idea to give it to some animal rescue place. I will investigate where is the closest one and might take it there.
Rhapsody
Totally OT- I had a pair of Norwegian Hooded Rats called Asterix and Obelix!
FORENSICA
Rhapsody - I guess my cats would have a bit of fun with those two
Ziggy
I always use cat litter in the poo tray... its a 'paper pellet' kind of litter, fully compostable, and it makes emptying the tray a dream, as I find it slides off the plastic tray even better than hemcore... Guess it depends what kind of litter it is.
