SueChick
We have recently taken some advice from other Omlet users about the use of limestone flour to get more calcium into our ladies. I have bought a box and put in a desertspoon full in peanut feeder as advised. Problem is, I have noticed that they have slowed down on their eating drastically now, I don't think they like the flour on their pellets very much. Does anyone know what the dose would be if I were to add it into a treat of mashed up something or other. They gobble treats up so quickly that they probably wouldn't even stop to taste it but pellets are a different matter entirely! Thank you folks... Chili
I mix my girls limestone flour in with their porridge which is a mix of everything - porridge oats, sweetcorn, sunflower hearts, sultanas etc. they don't stop to taste it and it's gone in a flash. Maybe you could try that Chili xx
Egluntyne
Mine are so greedy they wolf the pellets down without them touching the sides.
Janty
Mine won't touch their pellets either if there is anything in with them. However, I can feed them anything if it's in with their wet layers mash. I usually put a two heaped tablespoons limestone flour in with their morning layers mash but that is for 15 hens.

Thanks very much for your reply. I wonder how much I should give 2 chickens though. Do you think 1 teaspoon would be okay?

SueChick
Yes....that would be fine Suechick. Sorry to bother you again but how often do you give the flour in their food? If I am going to give 1 teaspoon for 2 chicks, how often should I give it to them? Twice weekly??
Egluntyne
I give it twice a week....as a preventative at the mo. If there were further probs with soft eggs etc, I would up it.
