chickencam
Has anyone got any experience of these? We are looking to buy one to take to a cottage with us in the holidays for one of the children to sleep on. Are Aerobeds worth the extra money? Does anyone have a Ready bed and are they any good? We have plenty of bog standard camping air beds but thought these might be better
Tina C
Our friends bought a one last year and it went down in the night - not a very good start to their first family camping holiday With a good pump it does not take very long to pump up the traditional airbeds - we find its a good job to give to the children - they don't do it very well but it keeps them occupied! We bought a double airbed last year (we usually sleep on roll mats) - not very comfortable as you get disturbed every time your partner moves! Jules.
We got Ethan a Doctor Who Ready bed yesterday. We will take it camping with us- so far it has been fine, but the top zipped in cover is a little thin, me thinks we'll need to take him a blanket as well. jomaxsmith
My boys wouldn't sleep on a Readybed as the pillow was too high! A friend borrowed it and it got a puncture My Mum has one of those airbeds with a built in pump that you just plug into a socket and it inflates. It's a lot quicker to inflate than using an ordinary electric pump and is also higher so it's more bed like and less difficult to get in and out of. superjules
My kids had ready beds, they both got punctures. We've got self inflating camping mat-type thingies, but the airbeds are much more comfortable, although we use a little battery operated pump.
