CROUCHING & Breast bone

Recommended Posts

The youngster I have of the three which is not laying actually crouched for me this morning - she is always the noisy one who makes a lot of hoo ha when I go into the run - she is wary of taking treats compared to the rest so hopefully there will be an egg and she will be more friendly. I actually picked her up this morning  They are quite skinny round the breast bones- is this normal - They eat loads and love their treats too and I make them porridge every day with s"Ooops, word censored!"s and potatoes and pasta and veg and all the poultry spices, limestone flour etc.

The older ones have prominent breast bones when you pick them up too - they had flubenvet for a week 10 days ago and no sign of worms and they seem healthy enough but as I have not picked up chickens for donkeys years I cannot remember what they should be like. I certainly thought they were a bit thin but the other two are egg production every day now so I expect they are putting a lot into that and I am feeding them well - they have layers pellets - 3 kinds including organic  (yes 3 kinds) and mixed corn and sweetcorn fresh daily and porridge etc. They are ruined already :lol: Expect they will put on some meat on their bones later.
