bridgy chooks
..my Mum has been given the task of doing a flower arrangement for her village flower festival (and around the font in the church) and the theme of the display that she's been asked to create is 'Mankind' . She's struggling for ideas. I've got as far as saying that mankind rely on water and that the font has water in it and that she could do something based on that but that's as far as I got. If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate them so I can pass on the ideas, thanks for reading
MedusA
Maybe some "Garden of Eden" theme? Or something using natural materials and man-made items together. Sorry, that's all that occurs to me.
Eyren
Since it's for church, the Sermon on the Mount springs to mind: And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? So, lilies and some kind of fabric
craftyhunnypie
Sory to sound awful but, I'm not religious at all & all I can think of is erm bread & fishes for all of mankind? From the song With the Wind in the Willows & the birds in the sky(remembered from school assembly). There you go - Willow, salt dough little loaves, some seasonal flowers & some sort of fishes. You could do a round wreath from willow I suppose. Emma.x
bronze
For some reason I keep getting this in my head Said the right-handed Honeysuckle To the left-handed Bindweed: 'Oh, let us get married If our parents don't mind; we'ld Be loving and inseparable, Inextricably entwined; we'ld Live happily ever after,' Said the Honeysuckle to the Bindweed. clucky1
I have got a male 'statue' in the garden (if you know what I mean ) You could always borrow it and create a display to redeam his modesty...

Aunty e
For some reason I keep getting this in my head Said the right-handed Honeysuckle To the left-handed Bindweed: 'Oh, let us get married If our parents don't mind; we'ld Be loving and inseparable, Inextricably entwined; we'ld Live happily ever after,' Said the Honeysuckle to the Bindweed. I had that in my head yesterday as I tied up the honeysuckle - my OH does a Flanders and Swann show with a pal and that's one of my favourite songs. As far as 'Mankind' is concerned she could maybe theme around all the races of Man (well, not ALL, but some) and have an african section, an asian section, a european section and so on?
