koo2cat
I thought I would give you an update on my bullied/bullying hen as I seem to have resolved the problem and it may help someone else who is having the same trouble. I kept the injured chicken separate overnight and also in a different pen UNTIL some Stockholm Tar arrived this morning! I painted it on (smells awful though not as bad as Ukadex I think) the back of the injured hen and one that had started to be another victim in the absense of the first pecked hen. It seems to have worked a treat. The bully goes up to the hens with the stuff on and just turns its nose up in disgust! So we are putting Barbara ( injured one) back in with the others tonight and we will see how we go! I have also given them some brocoli stalks to peck on to prevent them getting bored. Betty also laid her 1st egg today, so we are happy chicken keepers again. Long may that continue!
