Guest
I give my lot a couple of things a day - maybe an apple and a big tomato, or soem yoghurt and oats. I have 5, so I would guess maybe one thing every now and then would be ok! Well done on getting this back on topic, by the way - that grd has a bad habit of wandering off topic! Treats - not much for now. Half a small tin of sweetcorn between them. Maybe one apple for them to peck at. Mine love mixed corn, so they get a handful of that most afternoons. Nothing but pellets in the morning though.

Jacky
it's easy for me to get back on the topic Perhaps because you all know each other better then i do and I am not that confident on the forum yet
Guest
You'll get used to us - I was the same when I first joined, I lurked for a while, asked the odd question, and stayed pretty quiet till I felt a bit more confident! Hope you manage to find the advice, tucked in beside the chitchat!
Guest
Jacky - there are three things you need to know about this forum. 1) If you have a love of chocolate you will fit in very well indeed. 2) Any topic, no matter what the subject, goes off-topic. 3) All the men are wrong (and I'm one of them). Guest
I wouldn't worry! Louise doesn't like chocolate either, and we let her come out to play! Cakes, pastries, chocolates.....they all get handed round from time to time!

Chicken on a mission
I leave my eglu door on the jar over night and the girls let themselves out in the morning. I keep them shut in the run until about 10.30ish so that they fill up on pellets which I mix in a handful of oyster shell with. I do see them wandering back into the run for more throughout the day. I tend to prepare our veggies mid afternoon and they get some of the peelings from that and odds of fruit and raisins that my daughter hasn't eaten during the day. Then at about an hour or so before dusk, I throw a handful of mixed corn (no too much) into the run and after picking Ginger up and showing her how to get back into the run - she's a bit thick) I shut them in again so that I know they are safe from foxes even if I forget to shut the eglu door until later
Jacky
phew thats a relief then cakes and pastries count I am also mad about bread and i am really into home made bread and have a bread maker that I use all the time and hasn't lost its appeal and been left at the back of the kitchen then found its way on to ebay
Jacky
Hi Chicken on a mission i live near you, where did you buy your oyster shell from?
Chicken on a mission
I got a massive bag that came with the eglu. If you want some of it to last you until you can source a supplier you would be more than welcome. I can drop it off to you when I'm out and about or you can come to my place. I get all my chicken stuff from a local small pet shop in Gosport and they just order in what I want.
AnnieP
I am also mad about bread and i am really into home made bread Jacky, there was a thread fairly recently about bread: We have some real bread heads on this forum.. .lots of great recipes for breadmakers etc. See if you can search it out, or someone clever might be able to put in a link..... I love bread, but I only have to look at it and my jeans size goes up!
