Chickaboo
We have just moved to a house from a flat, and the girls just love to wander into the kitchen. It started off as a big no no, then escalated (only you people will understand!!), to the point that Pheobe now bangs on the kitchen door with her beak, until they are let in (fortunatley we have a tiled floor!). Anyway, I didn't realise they had come in, was just starting to cook dinner put the electric hob on, turned my back and suddenly heard a horrendous flap, aaaah, squeal .... Daphne had only lept up onto the hot rings!!! Well, she soon lept off again. I was beside myself, fortunatley her feet were a little pink but otherwise fine. She was a little traumatised, and needed a lot of fuss and spent the rest of the day standing on one foot. But she won't do that again. Mutrix Farmers
Ouch!! Hope she's OK. We've got carpet so they can just bang on the window, they won't be coming in unless I can buy chicken pants somewhere!!

Olly
Ouch! Hope she is ok. My chickens are banned from the kitchen - tiled floor or not. In fact, I'm always out in the garden with them when they are free-ranging, so the kitchen door is firmly closed.

Abbey Road Girl
Glad no damage done to your chick, Chickaboo. Am going to be tempted, I'm sure, to let my hens into my (tiled) kitchen. Just so domestic. On the other hand, who wants to be nagged!
