Phosphorus
Thanks - going to need it hopefully in next few weeks - waiting for those pink combs to go red I have aubiose on the run floor so thinking of using that over a sheet of newspaper in nesting box of Cube. Wondered what the most popular thing is?
Egluntyne
Aubiose is fab. Soft, compostable, absorbant. I wouldn't use anything else.
Cinnamon
Ditto to what Egluntine has said. I have used everything else on your list but have not looked back since trying Aubiose
Phosphorus
Do you just put the aubiose straight in the nest area or put paper down first - thinking of it falling through the slit in the bottom? Not a problem mind if it did as the floor of the run has aubiose on it anyway.
ajm200
We used to put a sheet of newspaper in the bottom of the nesting box then fill it with hemcore. When the girls came into lay, they took to pulling the newspaper up and ripping it on top of the hemcore. They would only lay in whichever part of the nesting box contained some paper and would queue rather than lay on hemcore. We gave in and now use shredded paper instead
Guest
Shredded visa bills and bank statement, then the whole lot gets chucked in the compost. Should hopefully flummox even the most enthusiastic identity thief....
Scottie
Our cube isn't due to arrive for another couple of weeks, but we've had our Eglu for 3 years and haven't ever used anything in it. We once tried putting something down but they really didn't like it. Sheila

Phosphorus
I might switch to the shredded visa bills etc if they can then go in the compost heap - we always have a load and it isn't allowed to go in the recycling bags. Problem solved
