Daisy and Maisy have laid eggs usually after i let them out but before midday.

But yesterday(tues) they laid about 6pm. Thought I was't going to get any eggs today, just been out and 2 eggs have been laid. Is it usual to lay at different times. It was far easier to lay in the morning. Mmm wonder if they will change back

I always thought they took 25 hours or so to create an egg so the laying time would be slightly later each day . Mine don't seem to adhere to this rule though but TBH I've not really taken a lot of notice of the times (and miss them if I'm at work anyway).

Mine have laid anywhere between 6am to 2pm. Sometimes I've gone out in the afternoon to clean the nest box and had one of them waiting for me to leave again

I've got one that regularly lays around 4 pm, though somedays all three have laid by lunchtime.

I have 3 laying regularly at the moment. Lottie is always finished by 9.30am, by which time Margo has joined her in the 2nd nest box, she finishes shortly after,while Hattie is hops from foot to foot as she wants to lay in Margos' nest box ! infact I usually find all 3 eggs in the same nestbox, so they must do a shuffle round at the last minute. They have always all laid by 10.30am.

I have one who lays by 8am and the others anytime for 8am-3pm. I have found one egg after 6pm but found it in the run so who knows when it was laid

Closed eglu at about 9.30pm tonight. At 22.30 let dogs out and and a look at chooks, one of them have laid a egg. Very late. Think they must be confused of what the time is.
