Iron Man

Recommended Posts

We (Hubby,Cleo & I) found ourselves with a couple of hours to kill while waiting for Devon to finish socialising this moring,so we went to the movies on the spur of the moment, & saw the new movie Iron Man (it was that or troll around the shops again  )

Now, I am not huge on comics & comic book adaptations, but this movie was just totally fantastic!

The effects were amazing, especially when making his Iron Man suit, & it had some very cute little pet robots in it too.

It was also laugh out loud funny.

Robert Downey Junior, who I have always liked, looked hotter than a very hot thing :lol: , & the role was just perfect for him.

The movie really outdid my expectations right from the start.

Its going to tip it down tomorrow - this is a great family movie & I really recommend it

I've just got back from seeing Ironman and I totally agree with you Cinnamon - it was superb!

I'm not a huge superhero fan, but my OH is, as are both my daughters, so I'm subjected to them on a regular basis.

It was entertaining from the outset, with none of those 'when is it going to get going' times you often get when the scene is being set. Robert Downey Jr was hugely engaging as the very likeable Tony Stark and there was a good mix of comedy and action.

A good way to spend a wet bank holiday afternoon...

He was such a "good actor" (as I told OH  ) wasn't he?!

I thought the hostage bits were a bit scary even though it was a 12A and can't believe poor Gwyneth Paltrow's character was "Pepper Potts" which of course made me think of the Omlet chicken :lol:

I liked it, I have seen practically all of the comic book adaptations though. There seemed to be more of a story and less of the drawn out fight scenes.

the fire safety robot was brilliant!

Can't believe you hung around waiting for your daughter to stop socialising though

Ah well you see, we had to drop her to meet some friends at an Ice Rink a little way away, & it wasn't worth going home to come back out again to pick her up.

We are a gloryfied taxi service really :lol:

We saw Iron Man last night. I also thought that the hostage bits were a bit scary and DD agreed but the rest of the film soon made her forget those scenes. How much do you now want the cute fire safety robot.

It's rare for me to laugh out loud at a movie, my OH is the movie buff, but i really did enjoy this film. The ending left no doubt that there will be a sequel, which can only be a good thing if it's as good as this film.

We saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it (apart from some young teenage boys who thought it fun to run around the cinema and throw things). :x Luckily they were eventually escorted out :D

My husband thought there should have been more action but I thought it was just enough - can't wait for the sequel.

I always read it in my brother's comics, and as the film had great reviews, we went on Saturday. I wasn't disappointed. Robert Downey Junior was (as Cinnamon said) hot hot hot!!!

I loved the cute robots too, but thought Gwyneth Paltrow's character was a complete waste of space. Jeff Bridges was suitably evil, but it was a shock to see him bald and bearded. He was a hottie too - in his day. Tron is still one of my all time fave sci-fi films and was ground-breaking at the time, with its use of computer graphics. Looks a bit dated now though.
