lisaroo2
Hi All Have just been out to the girls and noticed that Daisy has still got runny, mustard coloured poo. This is the 6th day that I've had the girls now and I can remember posting a worry about it earlier in the week. I think i was told not too worry it is just Daisy adjusting to her new diet/surroundings etc. Just checking in for some advice/reasurrance. Lisa new mum to... chucknette
Hi Do you put diatom in their food? I find this helps, I think some other forum members use live yoghurt.
BarbaraJ
Garlic and bokashi bran here but you still get a couple of runny ones each day, apparently they come from a differnt part of the body every 10 poos or so, so 1-2 a day is not many because wow they poo alot. theherd123
As suggested by Barbara, Bokashi bran is great stuff for helping with runny poo.
Suzie
One of mine has runny poos too. I've just bought some bokashi bran - how much do you add to a grub full of food?
theherd123
I would add a large handful and mix it in.

Hen Watch
Lisa, Bokashi bran is supposed to be good for runny poos. I have only just aquired some last few weeks so I can't say yet on how effective it is but I have heard good things. Keep an eye on Daisy as you can never tell with chickens when they are ill. But on the other hand, I would just say, mine pooped and squitted like mad for a good few weeks after they arrived. So much I was changing the poo tray daily and wondered what I had let myself in for. I only change it once a week now .
..lay a little egg for me
Garlic and bokashi bran here but you still get a couple of runny ones each day, apparently they come from a differnt part of the body every 10 poos or so, so 1-2 a day is not many because wow they poo alot. We've had our girls for a month now and they often do this runny, foamy, mustard, smelly poos. At first, I spent ages on this forum and elsewhere trying to find out what it was. Someone (may have been Barbara) mentioned this every 10 poos thing, so I gave up worrying about it. The post I saw said that it was to do with clearing out the caecum (equivalent of our appendix). Haven't been able to find out any more though. The girls have all been fine and two have already started laying regularly, so I hope it is one of those well-known facts that noone tells you about!!! If you find different...please let me know!!
