4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Since we got our Eglu our 3 girls wont go to bed! The first night they roosted at the end of the run,last night they went in okay but when I popped down to the kitchen at abou 3am they were up and about. Tonight we encouraged them into the coop and shut them in.

They will get used to the eglu David.

 

Try encouraging them in with a broom tomorrow night.

 

You could leave a torch in the nest box as they should head towards the light.

We used the broom tonight, I found crawling through the end of the run some what ungainly (plus the people next door think I'm nuts)

 

I'll try the light idea tomorrow

my neighbours think i am nuts i have to agree with them sometimes!

 

i think the touch trick is your best plan. it seems to work for most people

Hope they get used to it soon, as i cant believe how great time keepers they are , sun down & off they go to bed. Once they've been locked in maybe they've now 'homed' and will find it easier from now on. Bless them.

On the plus side they are laing well and no egg eating has occurred since they moved in!
