hi

can someone tell me when i can let my 2 new babies 8-10 weeks old free range with my original 2 girlies (i have had them for 1 year)

i have kept them separate since last thursday, but they can see each other, i do not want a blood bath, i couldnt cope.

Hi Sarah

You need to wait until the younger ones are 18 - 20 weeks old. This is just what I have read on here, I am particularly interested in this topic because my two were 8 - 10 weeks old when i got them and I would like to introduce 2 more youngish chicks in the summer.

You need to let them all see each other each day, but if you let them loose now the older ones could kill the chicks as they can't defend themselves.

Sorry but I would be patient if I were you :D

thanks moomin

i have got them in sight of each other and the big girls can go right up to the run, they dont seem too bothered by them i have to say

i will hope to have a smooth introduction when they are big enough

i am not very good with being patient
