..lay a little egg for me
Rosie just crouched! Right in front of me as I came into their run with some spaghetti. Goldie jumped up to peck it out of my hands, but Rosie crouched right by my feet! The two who are already laying have never crouched, so I was beginning to wonder if my cockerel impersonation was just not cutting the mustard! Perhaps we will have a 3-egg day soon! Does the crouching thing 'wear off' after a while (perhaps I missed it in the other two)?
Mutrix Farmers
mine only do it when I reach down to stroke them, other than that they either peck my shoes if I don't have food or strain to make themselves really tall if I do I'm sure it won't be long before the others lay too, then you'll have a glut of eggs and will be asking for suggestions about using them
Ain't Nobody Here
You can't miss it when they do it, can you . It's odd, I thought all hens crouched . All mine do but only on first being let out of the run - once they've been out they just run away if I approach .
