Ammonia smell in coop-first time owner

This morning I opened the Eglu door and they both came out to say "Hello" Dolce waddled straight back in and about 10 minutes later was out and about again. Then Bella sat in the nesting box and practically growled at me when I looked to see if I could get Dolce's egg out! She was on the nest for about 40 minutes, or so...

Bella is a big hen and lays 55g eggs, when she feels like it and with a great deal of fuss. Dolce is a little red hen and usually lays 67g eggs and has only had one day off since she started laying at Easter. Bless her.

Todays 98g egg is hopefully a double yolker! If so I'll fry it on Saturday and take photos. It's nice to have different size eggs though and I love both my hens. I must say, I was a little bit worried that Dolce might have strained herself, she seems absolutely fine today though.

That must have smarted . Hope it's a double yolker!

Ouch! That's almost an ostrich egg. The biggest we've had was 86g and it looked enormous sat next to the usual 50 grammers.

Dippy managed a 98g egg last week being pure white it looked more like a goose egg, and she is only a slip of a girl

I've had a 90g and a 94g inthe last week - both double yokers from Brlla & Nutmeg.
