Bexiboo
Hiya Is it ok to use bark chippings in the run of the eglu? Also I have lots of big apple trees in the back garden which we chop down the excess of and make into chips with a shredder, are we able to use this in the run of the eglu? Thank you. Christian
Wood chippings will be fine, but I try and avoid bark chippings as they go slimy and can contain mold spores.
cluckbok
Maybe used Hemcore or aubiose to be safe? We prefer Hemcore as it's impregnated with citronella which repels flies and smells lovely and lemony. good luck with your chooks whatever you choose. superjules
If apple is classed as a hardwood it's not a good idea because of splinters.
