The Coast to Coast walk

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done this?

I am thinking of doing it for my 50th birthday - with friends joining me along the route (I may even vary it a bit by cycling/running some sections) and then having a big camp out at the end (or maybe taking over Boggle Hole youth hostel).

Any comments/experiences welcome!

Its three years away, but there is nothing wrong with planning ahead....

How funny, my OH and a friend are cycling it next weekend

They did it last year for charity, but Joe's bike broke and it was his 2nd attempt so OH offered to do it again with him just to say they did it

Mark really enjoyed it last year, and is looking forward to doing it again :D

I would love to cycle the whole way but it would be over too quickly - and people( like my mum) would not be able to join me if I did it all by bike.

We went to a 50th birthday party last week and I decided I did NOT want a party at all. This way I should get to have a proper chat with friends.

we live just outside middlesbrough, it would be about 20 miles north of your route (right at the very end)

but we could meet up for a celebratory "end off trail" drink :D or walk the last few miles with you :D

I have just been looking on this website http://www.coast2coast.co.uk/index.php3?

it looks like a really challenging, but great walk :D I would love to have a go in the future :D

We were camping near Robin Hoods Bay all over half term the week before last.

I love Robin Hoods Bay - that was what kick-started the plan - two 'more mature' ladies had just finished the walk and asked OH to take a photo of them.

And we saw a cube too - forgotten the name of the place but you can hire boats out and there is a miniature railway.

Cathy if you and I are both on the forum in three years' time we will meet up then. We can reminisce about Tamworth too (I am from near there).

(And - I have driven from Lands End to JOG in a transit van - support vehicle - not quite the same cachet as riding it!)

Matthew - is he any relation to the 'original'?
