Home-made lemonade- could it be any easier....?

Recommended Posts

I cant believe the price of 'Real lemonade' in the supermarkets *tut* it is the work of a moment to make the most refreshing summer drink on the planet.

In a jug (or in the glass) dissolve caster sugar into lemon juice- about a teaspoon of sugar for every tablespoon of lemon juice.

Add 6-7 parts water for every part juice and sugar mix.

Chuck in some ice cubes and fresh mint leaves if you have some.

Thats it!

I tried a new lemonade recipe a friend gave me last summer the kids didn't like it so I drank the whole thing myself could have added some vodka well anyway. here is the recipe

2 cups sugar,1/2 cup honey, 2 cups water plus more as needed. 1 vanilla bean, 2 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (24 lemons) lemon slices for garnish.

combine sugar, honey & 2cups water in saucepan over medium heat, cut vanilla bean in half lengthwise s"Ooops, word censored!"e seeds from pod and add seeds and pod to saucepan. bring to boil cook to 4 or 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved and mixture thickens remove from heat and let cool.

Put lemon juice in gallon jug or pitcher strain sugar syrup and discard vanilla pod add enough water to equal 1 gallon stir & serve chilled

Thank you, Rhapsody - I made this yesterday. I think I may not have put enough sugar in to please the taste buds of OH and DD because they scrunched their faces - but I thought it was lovely, so I finished it all off. I think it will be a good alternative to chocolate for me - heaven knows I need to lose the weight!
