introducing Sugar and Meringue...

Recommended Posts

just picked them up - Sugar is a white leghorn, and if not already in lay then pretty much there. Meringue is a copper black maran (is that right?), and she's a bit off laying, although they are both about 22 weeks.

have got them in the rabbit run (with covered area) next to the purple eglu with the babies in.

Paris and Char are very interested - and I wouldnt say that friendly, much more so than they were with the babies, I wonder if they can sense the new girls are more mature?

a bit of facing off through the wire going on... I think next week I will try letting Sugar and Meringue out into the omlet netting once they have settled.

both have eaten, and preened a bit, and have now gone back to hide from the girls in the covered area!!

I am NOT looking forward to the introductions, but slowly slowly I guess - the aim is to get Sugar and Meringue into the pink eglu with Paris and Char.

I would really love to post some pics, but I am first of all rubbish at taking them, and 2nd of all I have tried to get some on here before and I just cant manage it. (technoidiot, I know!) can I add them on as jpegs or something?

(kind people have tried to show me before, but I have failed...)

oldest daughter named them - Meringue sounds like 'maran' apparently. Sugar is white, so I guess that's the connection. they are lovely, but they still seem so little in comparison with my 'grown up' sussex & bluebell! have been out twice in the dark tonight to check them...
