Helen&Lee
I've finally managed to sort out my 3 broody Brahmas They have been broody since around the end of March, at first I thought I would let them get on with it but its dragged on somewhat I've also suspected for about a week that Attila wasn't that broody any more but just stayed with the others for the company... They have had 5 days of a nesting box full of ice blocks, changed morning and night, the last 3 nights I have filled the nesting box with plant pots to prevent them even sitting in there. Its the plants pots that have helped finished them off, they seemed quite happy sitting on the ice blocks I'm so pleased with myself - and amazed at how determined they are. Next time at first sighting its the broody cage - I didn't try this time as it would still have left two in the nesting box and once out of the slammer they would have probably gone straight back in the nesting box to rejoin their partner in crime Just got a few days of quarrelling to sort out he pecking order again....
