Royal Mail Special Delivery refund advice

Recommended Posts

We have just received an ebay parcel that was sent special delivery and should have arrived before 1pm yesterday. I know when I sent something once and it didn't arrive we claimed a refund and sent the money back to the buyer.

I am not sure how to do it the other way round, can we do it ourselves do you think or should we get the seller to do it?

Liz, email him & say that it didn't arrive by the agreed time that you feel that as you paid extra for that service then you should be compensated.

As Claret says,he will then have to make a claim against the RM, & refund you when he gets his refund.

This can take weeks, & some nice sellers refund straight away to save the buyer from waiting

If he refuses to do this & you paid by paypal, open a dispute under the 'goods not as agreed' status, as you didn't get what you paid for.

they will then chase a claim from him on your behalf. If he doesn't respond to the claim in 10 days you automatically win!

let me know if it works out 8)

I have emailed him so I will see what happens.

We had this issue a couple of years ago when someone bought an item from us a few days before Christmas. We posted it Special Delivery and it didn't arrive until the 27th December. We claimed a refund and refunded the buyer.

I didn't know about the Paypal thing thanks Cinnamon :D
