Recommended Posts

Had my two girls a week now, and they seem very hungry!!!,

At the moment i keep topping up there feeder when empty so there getting as much as they want,

Im giving them mash but mixing in pellets so eventuly will be just pelletts

I cant believe how much they eat

Am i doing the right thing by feeding them as much as they like ??

Ours eat quite a lot, but i just believe they will eat as little or as much as they need as each day the amount left in the grub will vary from nearly nothing to a quarter full!!

I wouldn't worry too much, it isn't like you are feeding them corn or anything that could be fattening so it will all be doing them good!

I am really paranoid about my girls. I had to take Sporty to the vets and the vet said that she was a little underweight. They get herbal wormers each month plus flubenvet three times a year. I constantly have their feeders topped up and they get warm layers mash porridge with marmite and cod liver oil each morning for breakfast. I don't want fat hens but a little more weight would be good.

The vet said it's probably because they are getting so much exercise but you know when somwone sows a seed in your mind.

Thanks, might get a bigger feeder thingy, altough i suppose they throw most of it on the floor :x

Ive ordered a bigger run picking it up on sunday at the moment there in a big ark 4ft x 9ft i only have two but would like them to have a bit more room, i keep changing my mind and wanting it bigger and emailing the bloke who's making it he probably thinks im some kind of chicken freek
