A small door and not much space......................

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Just had fun with the (purple eglu) and (cube purple) .

We have ducklings which we put into the Eglu during the daytime but remove at night.

Has anyone tried getting ducklings out of the run you might be lucky catching one of them but then it is onto getting down through the door and in. I'm thinking of doing an SAS course to catch these little things.

Our hens can just about get into the cube via the steps but 2 have decided not to go in without help and yes you got it I'm in that run as well.We have only the first section so not much space to get around in.

Now you must think I am in my early 30 no, Im 56 grumpy Victor Meldrew at time but since getting the hen thing not as grumpy!

Why has not Omlet built in a side panel door to help getting in and out of the runs But then I would not get to go on a SAS course LOL

Well enough of me being Mr Meldrew .

Hope everyone tried to have a good day

Best regards

I think an SAS course is a great idea :D

I can just imagine it...

"hello, sir, could you tell me the reason that you need to go on this course? it will cost the government £3000."

"hello sargent chap!, I need to go on this course cos I have 4 ducks that just wont go into the eglu at night, its terrible, and then we have the chickens, well, they are 10 times worse......."

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hi

Yes they do!!!!

Feel like James Bond going through that small space but not 007

as i'm 10 June I am either 010 or 006

The extension gives them more space to duck and dive around lol.

Also I can turn around completely in.

Best regards

Ian

I can sympathise :? . I spent part of Saturday crawling around in my eglu run trying to install a new shoe rack perch for the girls. Couldn't get it quite right so had to keep going back in. It was fine while the eglu was removed, but I put it back before I'd got the perch right so had to go in through the Alice in Wonderland door  .

Hi

Yes a very good idea but then I would not get the chance to go on the SAS course :( lol.

But would be easier if Omlet made the end a human door eg large the full end hindges at one side and within that door the hen door then the problem is solved!

Best regards

Well I NEVER once got into the Eglu run! (admittedly I don't have recalcitrant ducklings to corral). I did get into the Cube run on Friday, for the first time ever - friend had just helped me move it to a clean bit of grass, and I wanted to spread some aubiose around in there.

There is no way I'd get into it once the chooks had been using it ... euwww :vom: ... apart from anything else, my bootylicious rear end only just went through the door! My friend, who was watching, very meanly suggested that she would lock the door and go down the pub, and it then occurred to me that actually it would be quite hard to open from inside. I had visions of phoning the fire brigade from my mobile "well, I'm locked inside a henhouse ..."

As soon as Prudence isn't watching, I'm going to order a spare arch and make the door adaptation suggested elsewhere on here.
