is this a problem? 2 call dracks and 2 Indian runner girls?

Recommended Posts

I have 2 call dracks and 2 Indian runner girls (the girls are about 7 weeks now so still are growing!)

are the boys likly to be a problem when it comes down to trying to mate????

also would the boys likely to be able to get over any type of step????? like behind my son in this photo attached? my lil boy is 6 years old (so to give you an idea of his height!!)

Perhaps this is in the wrong forum. If so, I think one of the lovely moderators will move it.

Tis done!

Sorry Emma, no idea.

I thought it should be a least a couple of ducks to drakes, but might be wrong?

Drakes aren't as 'active' as cockerels are they?

I would have thought that they could manage the step.

They are gorgeous :D Makes me feel all broody for some

They ARE gorgeous - and lovely to watch - but just look what them and the chooks between them have done to my garden....:?

I am sure they are worth it  Look on the bright side, saves on mowing the lawn

Do the chooks and ducks ever free range all together?

Yeah - i've tried telling DH that it saves mowing the lawn but he's not convinced!

The chooks and ducks free range together all day. They largely ignore each other. They go into separate eglus at night except one of my ex batts has decided she would rather sleep in the ducklu then with the other girls at the moment so i have 4 chickens in one eglu and 4 ducks and one chicken in the other eglu and run!
