ANyone here got a steam combi microwave?

Recommended Posts

I need to update my Panasonic Microwave - it will be 19 in November and so owes us nothing but I notice its been getting a bit hot on the sides recently so decided its time for it to go to the graveyard at the recycling plant  I have been searching for a new one and saw a steam one which does grill too so not sure about it and wonder if any of you know about them or if they are good etc.

I haven't got one of those - but we did need to replace our m/w last week as the old one blew up!

We don't use a m/w much so this time we decided to go for a reasonably cheap one. The first one I saw was Russell Hobbs - reduced from £100 to £50. I used Curry's site - ordered it online via their Reserve and Collect and Carl collected it on his way home.

Curry's also take your old m/w for recyling.

Oh thank you for that - will have a look - the russell hobbs do the steam one but I dont really use it much either - defrosting and heating up soup, softening onions etc and heating up the cat food once its been in fridge - they hate it cold!

Our microwave is 22 years old and is still going strong. My parents got it for a wedding present same as our electric whisk which is still working. They won't buy new ones until they break.

Although looking at electric whisks a lot seem to come without stands and bowls(apart from the really expensive kenwood ones) so you can just leave it without your arm aching so im hoping ours doesn't break anytime soon.

It is good isn't it? - we didn't want one with a grill but we preferred to pay £50 for one which had been £100 than pay £40 for one which had originally been £45 but didn't have a grill.

We are taking our old one in tomorrow - I sorted out the new one after Carl had left for work, and strangely, he didn't have the old one with him!!
