How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Just found an orange poo in the nesting box - any ideas?

Could it be one of those "Korma" poos they do, normally 1 every 10 poos! Is normal if that is what it is. They do tend to poo in the nestbox aswell. I shouldn't think it anything to worry about.

I saw that page but the photo wasn't like what we've got, which is a poo that is orange through and through (well it looks like 'through and through' - have to say haven't dissected it to find out for certain )

Pants! Not quite the right info after all Ours isn't runny, really - just like the normal poos only orange.

Have they been eating carrots ?

They only arrived today so imagine no to the carrots question! I also have no idea if it was a softie without the yolk - it wasn't very big...just like a normal poo, but orange. I guess I leave it and worry about it if I get lots more...?

Every 10th poo (roughly) is from a different part of the gut called the caecum, and it is smelly and resembles chip shop curry sauce.....also known as the "Korma" poo.

 

You may find that the new arrivals are a bit squittery for the first few days, it is just the upheaval of the move and they should settle down quite quickly.

 

Just keep them on pellets and water for the first few days and it should sort itself out.

 

If the Eglu is on grass, they may also get the runs as they haven't been used to eating it.

 

Best not to overdo it with the treats till they have settled, although it is tempting to give them, especially in the early days.

Lots of people (including me) have been worried by the first sight of these korma poos. Its a shame that the info about every 10th poo being from the caecum and being orange/yellow is not in the Omlet FAQs. It would put new chook owners' minds at rest.
