Great Cookery Book

Recommended Posts

I borrowed Jimmy Doherty's "A Taste of the Country" from the library today.

Really nice recipes. The pics are great too, the dishes look homemade, not too perfect as you normally get in cookbooks. The containers they used to cook with are also nice and 'used' with burned on black bits just like my own casserole dishes etc.,

There is a recipe for stuffed marrow with sausagemeat. DH insists on growing marrows every year, I think they are the most boriing vegatable on the planet, but stuffed with sausagemeat they could be very edible :)

Mine won't I have sooo many cookbooks and I get them from the library too

I must find that recipe with the sausage meat though we have a marrow which was meant to be a courgette in the front garden and courgettes have a habit of turing to marrrows when you aren't looking.

Any chance of posting the recipe please Tessa?

I have stuffed marrow with mixed veg fried with curry paste that is pretty yum :D
