Fingers Crossed (Peppa, Dora & Fifi)

Recommended Posts

We have now had the girls for 4 days. The 1st night we had to put them all in the cube. But the next two nights they went in by themselves with a torch in the house. Last night we decided to try without the torch and they were fine.

So far so good, they have hardly made any noise. Not even in the morning to get out. Would this be likely to change as they get older and more settled etc?

They havent been out of their run yet. My husband went in the run yesterday and picked them all up for a cuddle. They seem to follow us to whatever side of the run we walk to now to. So think they are slowly gathering their confidence with us.

Tried them on some grapes yesterday. They werent to impressed though. Going to try something different tonight. Thought this a good way to get them used to us to as we hand feed it to them.

How often do people poo pick in the actual run? I have been doing the poo trays everyday.

Glad you are enjoying your girls.

We poo pick the run every day because they are currently on grass. When we move onto bark chips it'll be weekly (well that's the plan at the moment!!)

Regarding noise, out neighbour told us yesterday that he never hears them apart from between 8 and 9 in the morning when they announce to the world they have laid eggs!!

Surprised they don't like grapes, most people say these are among the favourite of treats. Rice and spaghetti are good.

ours love currants (not raisins) and sweetcorn but have spurned rice!

We've been handling them daily (had them the same length of time as you) and they're getting much more used to it. They also don't make much noise at all, but my mum assures me that might change when they start laying.

I have read on here not to hand feed them because they then assume human hands hold food and will try to peck them even when they're empty. We just sprinkle it in the run for them - I've just put woodchip down and they've really enjoyed foraging for currants this afternoon

mine didn't care much for grapes on the first few days, when they had realised exactly what they were they were all over me for them... and still are!

Hubby says.. "oooh you spoil them, we're not supposed to buy good food for them, s"Ooops, word censored!"s is what they should get..........!"

and then he's outside with grapes and treats going.. "come here my babies":roll::lol:
