Poorly chicken

how do you know which one has laid the egg???

i know this is a silly question but do certain breeds have differant coloured

eggs me and my other half are having big debaits on this

 

can anyone help

I'm sure someone else who will know more will come and post, but I personally have found which one lays which, as they are all slightly different.

You could try catching one egg after it has been laid (not literally, go out and collect it ) and try and see some differences between that one and the next chicken's egg?

I can't tell who lays most of the eggs as they are mostly bog standard medium cream.

I am having trouble telling now, unless it is one of the maran hybrids - but even those can get confused with my Road Ranger's eggs - she seems to be laying darkish brown eggs as well at the moment

 

In fact - I don't think I have a clue anymore - they wait until I am out to lay The only one I can be sure about is Alice's because it is white

Unless your hens lay different coloured eggs it could be difficult to tell. If you are at home most of the day like me, then you will know who has gone in house to lay. Though ours lay different colours anyway.

My bluebelle lays pale cream eggs, but the others are all bog standard brown.
