Woodchips..at last! - Update

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the tip, I've been looking for wood chips for ages. However, I currently pay £10 for 270 litres of bark from Wickes so might stick with them for a while (they too smell by the way, but it usually goes after a week). It's annoying that none of the major DIY shops seem to sell them anymore.

Hi there

Collected a huge bale of Hemcore today from tack shop not too far away. Paid £7.90 not sure how many litres it is but it seems very compressed and think it will go a long way.

Seen it recommended along with Aubiose on forum lots of times.

Hi all, just spent this evening cleaning the run and put the chips down. I must say, I really like them.

Unlike the stuff from B&Q these are big, square like chips, the 'play ground stuff'. They are not slimey at all, and do not smell (I found the stuff from B&Q had a fermented smell). They look really pretty too - light in colour almost pine like in shade. I only ordered one bag so I'm definitely going order some more. I think if you have a cube and standard run, you'll probably need 2 bags to have a sufficient covering. If anyone else has tried this, I'd be interested to know your opinions. Thank you Flyte so Fancy

Christine.

PS Also noticed Flyte so Fancy are doing the 2x2 Egg Box specifically for Omleteers :D
